Regarding phone screens, oleophobic coating and lighter flame

I have a burning question. When I went to get a screen protector applied on my Samsung Galaxy S9+, the guy applied lighter flame for a couple of seconds to the edges of the protector while it was sitting on the screen, presumably in order to make it warmer for easier application. My question is, is it possible the screen and/or the oleophobic coating has been damaged because of this? It seems risky to me, but he had already started doing it by the time I saw him. Thank you.
